questions

Q: where are the sessions located?

Q: where are the sessions located?

A: All portrait sessions are located on-site and completely up to you. They can take place in the comfort of your home (lifestyle sessions are my fave), another location of your choosing, or I can suggest a few places based on my experience. Mini session locations will be at my choosing, and they will be posted in advance. Bonus: anyone who books a session with me gets a copy of my Prep Guide, which includes a listing of a TON of locations around the Lafayette, Louisiana area!

Q: what should i wear?

Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

A: I will almost always recommend you wear something that makes you feel confident, but also something that you are comfortable wearing. Assuming you want a variety of poses, be sure to wear something that you would be comfortable standing, or sitting in. While I absolutely encourage creative and unique styles, here are some general tips for those who have no idea where to begin:

• Try and stick to solid-colored clothing or incorporate minimal prints. Prints and patterns can absolutely work if they're not too bold and busy, otherwise they tend to distract from the face and focal points.
• Think texture! I love when clients incorporate textured fabrics, like lace or crochet, ruffles, waffle knit or sweaters - these all add a beautiful element to your images.
• "Variety is the spice of life" rings true with styling. Variety of colors (choose a color palette of 2-4 colors with similar or complimentary tones - I'm OBSESSED with jeweled tones, ). Variety of textures. Variety of patterns and solids (hint: Pinterest is perfect for getting ideas)
• Accessories - Keep your jewelry simple; just like patterns, too much jewelry can distract from your face, and large, shiny jewelry can cause light flares. Hats are a great addition and can be used in so many prompts.
If you plan on changing outfits during your session, let me know so that I can bring my handy-dandy changing tent.

Added bonus - booked clients get access to my Style & Select account for easy styling and shopping!

Q: do you provide props? Can i bring my own?

Q: DO YOU PROVIDE PROPS? CAN I BRING MY OWN?

A: While I do not provide any props, I always encourage my clients to bring anything to any session that they want to incorporate. If it tells your story, I want to capture it.

Q: what happens if it rains?

Q: what happens if it rains?

A: For rain, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other unforeseeable circumstance, I try my best to accommodate to you. We can either move the location to somewhere indoors, or we can reschedule and your retainer gets applied to the new date. At this time, Lindsey Romero Media does not have a studio, but there are always indoor location options. For elopements (if you're willing), we'll embrace most weather conditions, such as snow and rain - it adds to the adventure ;)

Q: how long before i receive my gallery?

Q: HOW LONG BEFORE I RECEIVE MY GALLERY?

A: All session galleries have a 1 week turnaround guarantee, and all wedding and elopement day galleries have a 2 week turnaround (not including national holidays). I stick by this promise so much that if you don't receive your gallery in this timeframe, I take a percentage off of the applicable session fee and apply it as a discount off of future sessions.

Q: how do i get my images?

Q: HOW DO I GET MY IMAGES?

A: They are provided through a private, online image gallery where you can download digitals, order prints, canvases, metals prints, albums, etc. For wedding days, I also provide a backup USB drive of all of your wedding day images.

Q: how far in advance should i book?

Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

A: For weddings, I book anywhere from 6 months-1.5 years out. This doesn't mean that I don't have availability before then. I take on a max of 3 weddings per month, so the sooner you can reserve your date, the better.

For portrait sessions, I can usually get clients in within 1-2 months, and even sooner if your schedule can accommodate weekdays. Noting that my Spring and Fall/Winter seasons are the busiest, so I recommend booking at least 2 months in advance during those seasons, if possible.

Q: what does the session fee cover?

Q: WHAT DOES THE SESSION FEE COVER?

A: The session fee covers my time for the session, including travel, editing, exporting, and uploading hours. It also includes access to your private, password-protected online gallery, and a full print release for personal use. Depending on the package, a varying number of complimentary digitals are included at no additional charge. A full breakdown of my package options can be found on my investments page

Q: can i purchase a session or package for someone else?

Q: CAN I PURCHASE A SESSION OR PACKAGE FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

A: Absolutely! Gift certificates make amazing gifts for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, and Mother's Day! They are available for purchase and can be sent to any friend or family member of your choosing. Click the link to place an order for a Gift Certificate

Q: HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? wHAT DO YOU DO TO PROTECT MY IMAGES?

Q: HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE? wHAT DO YOU DO TO PROTECT OUR IMAGES?

A: I threw this question in here because it's exactly what I would ask as a potential client. I've been a professional photographer since 2018, and (to-date), I've captured over 75 weddings and elopements. In order to protect your gallery, I always shoot with 2 SD cards (images are backed up twice as soon as the shot is taken) AND the final edited images are backed up in 3 places on my computer (cloud drive, hard drive, and gallery site). While I shoot with professional gear, equipment fails (ugh, it happens), so I always carry backup gear to my backup gear. You'll never find me without (at least) 2 cameras, several lenses, and multiple flashes. Trust me when I say that you and your memories are in good hands <3

Q: HOW DO TRAVEL FEES WORK?

Q: HOW DO TRAVEL FEES WORK?

A: In order to make things as easy as possible for you, all travel fees for elopements are included in the prices you see!  I will take care of all of my own flights, rental cars, lodging, and accommodations, etc.

For portrait sessions and traditional weddings, travel fees are included for locations within 40 miles of Lafayette, LA; anything outside of that range is charged at $2.00/mile round-trip.

Q: Do you offer professional retouching (ex: blemish removal)?

Q: Do you offer professional retouching (ex: blemish removal)?

A: My standard process is to remove anything that would be temporary. For example, bumps and bruises on kiddos, blemishes on young teens, or scratches from a playful puppy. I also do basic portrait retouching, such as skin smoothing and eye brightening. Additional edits are subject to a fee.

Q: Can we bring our pets? What about additional family members?

Q: Can we bring our pets? What about additional family members?

A: Dogs are ALWAYS a yes in my book - afterall, they are a part of your family <3

Additional family groups are ok, but I need to be notified of it upon booking, and there is no additional charge. The package purchased includes a total number of guaranteed images, at a minimum. This is not a minimum number of images per family, but per total session.

Q: Will my images be posted online or any social networks?

Q: Will my images be posted online or any social networks?

A: Yes, it is very likely. I post, share, and utilize images as they are relevant to my business. If you have a specific request for me to not utilize your images for marketing my business, please let me know, and I'll be happy to respect your request.

Q: is there a best time of day, or time of year, to schedule?

Q: is there a best time of day, or time of year, to schedule?

A: For time of day, I absolutely LOVE golden hour for outdoor sessions. This is 1-2 hours prior to sunset or after sunrise. For indoor sessions, it is ideal to schedule when the natural window light will be the brightest (usually the middle of the day, depending on where the windows are on the building), but can really be scheduled any time - I have plenty of lighting sources that can be used to replicate the natural window lighting.

For time of year, this largely depends on location. Fall seasons tend to bring rich, bold, and warm tones. Spring seasons bring brighter colors with the greenery and flowers.

Q: can i share my online gallery with my friends and family?

Q: can i share my online gallery with my friends and family?

A: Absolutely! In fact, it's encouraged! Please keep in mind that only the booking contact will have the ability to download the full-resolution, non-watermarked digital images. Any friend or family member can access the gallery, but they will have to purchase the full-resolution, non-watermarked digital images or products.
