A: I will almost always recommend you wear something that makes you feel confident, but also something that you are comfortable wearing. Assuming you want a variety of poses, be sure to wear something that you would be comfortable standing, or sitting in. While I absolutely encourage creative and unique styles, here are some general tips for those who have no idea where to begin:
• Try and stick to solid-colored clothing. Prints and patterns can work if they're not too busy, otherwise they tend to distract from the face and focal points.
• For group portraits, choose a color palette of 2-4 colors with similar tones that go nicely together (hint: Pinterest is perfect for getting ideas)
• Keep your jewelry simple; just like patterns, too much jewelry can distract from your face, and very shiny jewelry can cause light flares.
• If you plan on changing outfits during your session, let me know so that I can bring my handy-dandy changing tent.
A: While I do not provide any props, I always encourage my clients to bring anything to any session that they want to incorporate. If it tells your story, I want to capture it.
A: For rain, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other unforeseeable circumstance, I try my best to accommodate to you. We can either move the location to somewhere indoors, or we can reschedule and your deposit gets applied to the new date. For elopements (if you're willing), we'll embrace most weather conditions, such as snow and rain - it adds to the adventure ;)
A: All session galleries have a 1 week turnaround guarantee, and all wedding and elopement day galleries have a 2 week turnaround (not including national holidays). I stick by this promise so much that if you don't receive your gallery in this timeframe, I take a percentage off of the applicable session fee and apply it as a discount off of future sessions.
A: They are provided via a private, online image gallery where you can download digitals, order prints, canvases, metals prints, albums, etc. For wedding days, I also provide a backup USB drive of all of your wedding day images.
A: For weddings, I book anywhere from 6 months-1.5 years out. This doesn't mean that I don't have availability before then. I take a max of 4 weddings per month, so the sooner you can reserve your date, the better.
For portrait sessions, I can usually get clients in within 1-2 months, and even sooner if your schedule can accommodate weekdays. Noting that my Spring and Fall/Winter seasons are the busiest, so I recommend booking at least 2 months in advance, if possible.
A: The session fee covers my time for the session, including travel, editing, exporting, and uploading hours. It also includes access to your private, password-protected online gallery, and a full print release for personal use. Depending on the package, some complimentary digitals or products may be included at no additional charge. A full breakdown of my package options can be found on my investments page here.
A: Absolutely! Gift certificates make amazing gifts for Christmas, birthdays, weddings, and Mother's Day! They are available for purchase and can be sent to any friend or family member of your choosing.
A: The elopement experience is best suited for couples wanting to have a "just us" wedding day. However, some couples want the elopement-type of experience, but want a few loved ones along for the adventure - generally this means 20 guests or less.
A: In order to make things as easy as possible for you, all travel fees for elopements are included in the prices you see! I will take care of all of my own flights, rental cars, lodging, and accommodations, etc.
For portrait sessions and traditional weddings, travel fees are included for locations within 40 miles of Lafayette, LA; anything outside of that range is charged at $1.50/mile round-trip.
